It’s a brand new year and if you’re like me there’s a lot to think about. I’m mainly reflecting on what worked and didn’t work so well last year and making big plans. Are you someone who sets goals? Do you believe in New Year’s resolutions? Maybe you have a system like Chris Brogan who picks 3 thematic words (see his post, “My 3 Words for 2012″ it’s actually pretty good).

Whatever the case here’s what I’m focused on:

1. Am I better today than I was yesterday?

2. Am I spending the most time with the people in my life that matter most?

3. Despite my (many) short-comings and failures am I keeping myself mentally and physically healthy?

Although there are sure to be set backs, challenges and adversity this year, I’m remembering: every day is a new chance to be my very best.
